I am writing in support of the Little Stars Learners Tutoring Program. I first became aware of the Little Stars Learners Tutoring program in late 2021 and was fortunate enough to be able to enrol several of the children and young people living in placements supported by Infinity Community Solutions to access the benefits of the program.

The children and young people who accessed the program all thoroughly enjoyed the program and most importantly, all experienced significant gains in their learning and academic results. Given the widely reported disadvantages children in care experience in respect to their educational achievements, the program was significant in helping to improve the outcomes for those who participated in the program.

Their carers also reported the significant benefits of the program, including the exceptional support and relationships the children and young people were able to develop with their tutor. These outcomes are supported by the wonderful program developed by the Little Stars team, including specialised trauma training for all the tutors. This training helps to ensure the tutors are better equipped to assist the students to overcome the barriers they have faced in accessing a positive education experience in the past.

Infinity Community Solutions Ltd is a small organisation and without the support of wonderful donors, supporting the program, we would not have been able to have as many of our children and young people access the program. We would strongly advocate for the program and its benefits for the children and young people who are lucky to access it.

Infinity Community Solutions Ltd is committed to working with the Little Stars Learners Program to ensure as many of our children and young people are able to achieve the undeniable life benefits arising from an improved education. Further, we would put forward this program to any potential donor as a solid investment in contributing to the foundations of children and young people’s futures, as there can be no doubt a good education is the key to moving out of a cycle of poverty and disadvantage.
